Excerpt from the Patscheider Chronicle (written in 1988 by Wilhelmine Jarosch-Patscheider-Kniely):

The oldest picture we have of the Rosner family from Braunsdorf can be seen above (here on the right); it was probably taken around the year 1885.

  • We see the master baker Josef Rosner (1842-1911); son of Anton Rosner (1815-1866), farmer in Braunsdorf, and Theresia, née Schwarz (1813-1870). Josef Rosner also operated an active grain trade, while the farm was leased out.
  • Next to him sits his wife Theresia, née Starwarz (1846-1922) from Lobenstein, who, with great prudence, raised four children and also managed the bakery, since her husband was constantly away due to the grain trade.
  • Next to her is her mother Theres Starwarz b. 1823, and behind the two women stands the eldest daughter and granddaughter, Antonia Elisabeth Rosner (1869-1948), our later grandmother Jarosch.
  • We can also recognize the brother Josef Rosner, top right, among others father of Fritz Rosner; the little Theresia, later the mother of Othmar Krause; and the youngest – Alois.
  •

Only these four children out of a total of 13 children of the Rosner couple survived.

Comment:

All data are credible; the family name of Theresia is easier to read here. I am fairly certain that Stawarz is correct, not Starwarz, even though the name Starwarz is used in the chronicle.

Lobenstein is today called Úvalno und Braunsdorf is today’s "Brumovice u Opavy" in the Moravskoslezský region of the Czech Republic.
